HOW TO HEAL A BROKEN HEART
Please, tell me! Who DOESN’T have a broken heart? Whether it’s a death, a divorce or a dad…something somewhere along the line broke your heart.
I remember vividly the first time my heart broke. It was over lost trust & disbelief someone I thought was the best person in the world would lie to hurt me….betray me…over so little. I was just a kid, but I still recall the pain.
My first boy love heartbreak will always be remembered and it shaped every relationship after the tears dried.
Regardless of HOW your heart has been snapped in two, here’s how I’ve kinda healed mine:
I’ve really taken time to be alone & process. I didn’t jump into relationships & after this last go around, I’m not sure if I ever will again. Embrace being alone & let it feel nice.
I took a course in woodworking. It seemed like a guy thing, but it’s a cool skill to learn & I ended up being confident enough to not need a “man around the house”. Take a course in something that is unusual for you. Learn to salsa or sign up for the cornhole league.
Splurge on things for yourself. Treats that you tell yourself that you deserve. Because you do. You’re awesome.
TRAVEL! You can grab some friends & do an all-inclusive in Cuba or take a guided tour to Africa on safari…or maybe go solo! I’ve always been a solo traveler because I’m a loner & love my times on the road by myself. I’ve also taken tours & never were disappointed. It’s so nice to not worry about booking hotels or where to eat or “am I going to get robbed?”. Tours take care of the logistics & there is safety in numbers. At the end you’ve made at least one friend you will always keep in touch with. I’m not knocking the all-inclusive trip at all. There are times when a mai tai for breakfast & some dirty dancing with the hot guy from the beach bar is just what the doctor ordered to heal your broken heart. Escape…anything goes! You literally get up & do whatever you want to do without thinking about paying one red cent for it. Just travel.
Come & eat the world with me!
